The American Red Cross Tsunami Recovery Program (TRP) had been established to direct the organization’s response to the South Asia tsunami disaster. The TRP activities focus on integrated community recovery and preparedness interventions in tsunami affected countries in Asia and East Africa in collaboration with Red Cross and non-Red Cross partners. The Indonesia TRP Delegation operates from offices in Banda Aceh, Calang, Lamno. It also has liaison offices in Jakarta, and other areas in Aceh province in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross.

The American Red Cross seeks dynamic individuals to fill the :
Human Resources Advisor
(Aceh)
Responsibilities:
• Assist HR in creating a list of proposed 2009 recruitments in coordination with all managers and supervisors.
• Create a 2009 training schedule utilizing comments in staff appraisals and other suggestions from management.
• Help identify and organize outbound training to those staff whose contracts will not be extended.
• Monitor and evaluate recruitment and HR related activities recommending improvements
• Recommend and provide supervisory tools to the HR manager.
• Advise on the interpretation and application of policies, regulations and rules.
• Review and provide advice on forms, exceptions to policies, regulation and rules.
• Assist in recommending level of remuneration for locally recruited staff.
• Review the staff orientation process and documents making recommendations and changes as necessary.
• Prepare post grade analysis of positions and identify differences. Provide justifications for the differences or recommend changes such as salary adjustment.
• Preview the HR database and recommend changes.
• Review and enhance as need be HR reports such as the end of year personnel data.
Requirements:
• A university degree in Public or Business Administration, Human Resources Management (HRM) or a related area such as Education or Social Science.
• At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management or related area.
• Experience with Red Cross Human Resource policies and procedures a plus
• Fluency in spoken and written English; knowledge of Indonesian or Acehnese a plus.
• Ability to conduct independent research and analysis, identify issues, and recommend solutions; proven analytical skills.
• Ability to establish priorities and to plan, coordinate and monitor own work plan and those under his/her supervision.
• Ability to identify clients' needs and appropriate solutions; ability to establish and maintain productive partnerships with clients.
• Proven ability to write in a clear and concise manner and to communicate effectively orally.
• Strong interpersonal and; ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with people in a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
• Solid computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and good knowledge of human resources databases
